Disgaea Mayhem now has a Western release date: July 23. NIS America confirmed that the action RPG will launch on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, bringing the game to Western players after its earlier debut in Japan and Asia on January 29.

The most relevant part of the announcement is the simultaneous platform rollout. There is no separate window for consoles and PC, and no indication that one version will arrive later than the others. PS5, Switch 2, Switch, and Steam are all listed for the same day, which makes July 23 the first concrete date for the Western release across the full lineup of platforms.
NIS America also confirmed a $99.99 limited edition sold through its online store. The package includes a copy of the game, a collector’s box, an art book, the original soundtrack in a digipak, an acrylic stand, and an acrylic keychain. The only format note mentioned is for Switch 2, where the game will be included as a game-key card rather than a standard physical cartridge. That detail matters for anyone deciding between editions or comparing the release format on different systems.
Disgaea Mayhem is an action RPG spin-off, so it moves away from the tactical structure associated with the mainline Disgaea games and puts combat directly in the player’s hands. According to the publisher’s overview, players can use seven weapon classes, including sword, gun, fist, axe, and bow, and switch weapons to change how they approach battles. The game also keeps the series’ heavy emphasis on progression, with grinding, equipment upgrades, reincarnation, and the Item World all part of the loop.
That progression system is important because it shows how closely the game still follows Disgaea’s identity. Even with a more immediate combat model, the aim remains the same: keep raising stats, improving gear, and pushing damage numbers higher. The publisher’s description even references the Dark Chocolate Assembly, another familiar series mechanic that helps underline how much of Disgaea’s humor and structure remains intact.
The story focuses on N.A., a mercenary with a sweet tooth, and Princess Tichelle, who is obsessed with pudding. Their goals are simple but very Disgaea: he wants money, she wants dessert, and both are willing to work together to get what they want. Classic demons such as the Prinny are also recruitable, which should make the game feel familiar to long-time fans even as it changes the combat format.
As a release-date announcement, this one does more than just confirm when the game is coming out. It also clarifies the platforms, the special edition, and the kind of spin-off Disgaea Mayhem is trying to be. For players who were waiting for a Western date, July 23 is now the point where the game moves from an overseas launch to a fully scheduled release in the West.
