AION 2 now has a worldwide release window. NCSOFT’s open-world MMORPG will launch for PC in September 2026 through Steam and PURPLE, bringing the new chapter of the series to a broader international audience. The global release follows the game’s original debut in South Korea and Taiwan on November 19, 2025, where it launched for PC, iOS, and Android.

The game is built in Unreal Engine 5 and is set across a world described as 36 times larger than the original AION. Scale is not only about distance, because AION 2 is designed around aerial combat and verticality. Flight is a core part of exploration and battle, allowing players to gain altitude, control space, and approach encounters from angles that are not possible in a flat battlefield.
Combat is presented with a faster tempo, where precision, timing, and positioning shape each fight. Players will be able to chain skills, customize classes around their preferred style, and adapt as encounters become more demanding. The PvE structure includes solo instances, four-player party content, and eight-player group dungeons, with more than 200 dungeons in total. Large-scale raids, seasonal challenges, competitive rankings, open-world events, and the Abyss connect dungeon play with faction conflict.
Character customization is another major pillar, with over 200 options and a range of outfits, mounts, and wings to collect. AION 2 will also feature the Shugo Festival, a set of mini-games that includes protecting Shugos from enemy waves, racing pets against other players, and dodging lasers. Rewards include wings, skins, pets, and décor. The announcement also comes with a new trailer focused on the global release window, giving PC players a clearer target for the MMO’s worldwide arrival.
