CULTIC Brings Its Retro Horror FPS to Consoles July 23

Atari and Jasozz Games will bring CULTIC to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23 for $19.98. The retro horror FPS is already available on PC and will now reach consoles in a Complete Edition that brings together every chapter released so far. On Steam, CULTIC currently holds a 97 percent positive user rating from roughly 8,000 reviews, underlining the strong following it has built among fans of old-school shooters.

CULTIC draws inspiration from 1990s shooters, but it is not simply trying to recreate their surface-level look. Jason Smith’s project, developed under the Jasozz Games name, combines three-dimensional environments, a grimy pixelated style, heavy weapons, and combat designed to support both direct action and a more deliberate approach. Players can charge into encounters with fast run-and-gun movement, or make more careful use of level layouts, available resources, and environmental interaction to gain control over each fight.

The console release will include CULTIC: Chapter One and CULTIC: Chapter Two in one package. Together, the campaign features 23 maps filled with blood, ruins, cultists, and hostile locations to push through using an arsenal built around fast and forceful combat. The game places particular emphasis on weapon impact and physics, helping each shot feel weighty while also turning environmental objects into possible tools during a battle.

One of CULTIC’s strongest points is the freedom it gives players over the pace of the action. Not every area needs to be approached in the same way: some fights reward aggression, while others allow players to slow down, find a stronger position, or use the environment to avoid being surrounded. That approach brings together the immediate appeal of boomer shooters with a more modern structure that can adapt to different playstyles and skill levels.

After completing the story, players can also take on a wave-based Survival Mode designed to test endurance, accuracy, and ammunition management against increasingly aggressive enemy groups. With its arrival on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2, CULTIC is expanding its audience without changing its core identity: a rough, fast, and bloody horror FPS where retro presentation supports a combat system with more flexibility than its visuals may initially suggest.
