Silver Lining Interactive and Sunny Lab have announced that The Witch’s Bakery will launch on August 20 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The side-scrolling adventure RPG is set in modern Paris and combines magic, baking, and personal relationships in a story focused on emotions and vulnerability. Physical editions will also be available for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Switch for £29.99, $34.99, or €34.99. Early purchases will include a digital cookbook.
Players take the role of Lunne, a young witch who has just arrived in the French capital to open her own bakery. Her special ability goes beyond making bread: Lunne can look inside people’s hearts and use magic to help them heal emotions they are unable to express. Her bakery becomes a meeting point for customers, friends, and Paris residents, while each day helps her gain experience, money, fame, and stronger personal connections.
The adventure is divided into three parts of the day. During daytime, Lunne manages the bakery and serves customers alongside her friends. Evening is dedicated to exploring Paris, visiting different districts, meeting characters, taking part in activities to learn new skills, and buying books that unlock new recipes. One of the locations shown is Le Quai des Bouquinistes in the sixth arrondissement, an area known for book sellers, collectible goods, and its view of Notre-Dame.
Nighttime offers a quieter rhythm. Lunne can rest, improve her magical abilities, decorate the bakery, and spend time in her atelier. These activities do not appear to be simple cosmetic breaks, but part of the daily progression that supports the wider story. The game is designed to follow Lunne’s growth not only through its fantasy adventure, but also through the home, work, and relationships she builds in the city.
When someone’s emotions are locked away too deeply, Lunne can enter their Heart Palace, a magical space where thoughts and feelings take physical form. Inside, she must guide a personified Emotion back to the heart, uncovering the character’s deepest struggles and finding the key ingredient needed to bake bread that can help them heal. The Witch’s Bakery is therefore aiming to combine everyday life, exploration, and a more emotional narrative layer in a fantasy adventure with a clear identity of its own.
