Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has received a two-minute overview trailer, outlining the upgrades and new content included in the enhanced version of Nintendo and Monolith Soft’s action RPG. The game will launch digitally on July 30, 2026, followed by a physical edition on October 1. This release brings Rex, Pyra, and the journey across the Titans to Nintendo Switch 2 with technical improvements and a few additions tied to combat, exploration, and customization.

The adventure is still set in a world lost above a sea of clouds, where entire civilizations live on the backs of massive Titans moving toward death. Rex, a young scavenger, meets Pyra, a living weapon known as a Blade, and sets out to find the legendary paradise she calls home. The core remains a strategic action RPG, with Drivers and Blades working together through battles built around party roles and ability management.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Edition focuses first on performance and image quality. The game runs at 4K resolution in TV mode and full HD in handheld mode, both at 60 frames per second. Cutscenes have also been made smoother and sharper. On the content side, this edition adds a new rare Blade with its own quest, a new action battle mode that lets players directly control Blades sent on mercenary missions, and exclusive equipment designs for Pyra and Mythra.
