Songs of Glimmerwick will launch on September 30, 2026 for PC via Steam, with console versions following at an unspecified later date. Eastshade Studios confirmed the release date for its musical fantasy RPG alongside a new trailer. A demo is also available on Steam, offering an early taste of its unusual combination of academy life, exploration, and a magic system built around playing music.

The adventure takes place in Glimmerwick, a fantasy land known for its university of magic. Spells are cast by playing songs with a flute and songbook, allowing the protagonist to speak with trees, enchant tools so they work by themselves, or raise the ground to overcome natural obstacles. The official website for Songs of Glimmerwick introduces a school year shaped by changing seasons, festivals, curses, and mysteries scattered around the island.
University life includes classes, after-school clubs, and relationships with students, staff, and townsfolk. Quests place a strong emphasis on characters and story, while experience can be invested in skills that improve activities such as gardening and trading or unlock stranger talents, including the ability to speak with frogs. Every major and minor character will feature fully voiced dialogue.
There is plenty to do away from class as well. Players can tend the university garden, explore the island, go fishing, dive for seashells, join a band, or take part in forest expeditions with the Green Sprites. The protagonist’s appearance can also be customized, giving players some freedom to shape their year in Glimmerwick before the RPG eventually expands to consoles.
