Sea Sniffers is the cozy RPG where a seal punches fish

Sea Sniffers will launch for PC via Steam in 2027 with PLAYISM as publisher. Developed by Blastmode and MP2 Games, the game takes the relaxed appeal of underwater exploration and mixes it with RPG progression, fishing, creature collecting, and one instantly readable hook: players can control a seal that knows how to throw a punch.

The adventure follows Kiwi, a young girl who joins the Sea Sniffers, ocean explorers dedicated to studying the world’s waters. She is joined by Momi, a trusted seal companion who can dive below the surface, search for secrets, face sea creatures, and investigate strange sightings reported across the area.

The world of Maluna is split between life at sea and life on the islands. Players can travel freely, dock their ship, cast a rod, visit shops, talk to locals, and pick up clues or gossip. Beneath the waves, the focus shifts to sunken ships, hidden caves, and ocean depths filled with species to catch and document.

The structure is cozy, but not completely passive. Creatures will fight back before being caught, while upgrades for gear, the boat, and companions help shape each expedition. Findings brought to Lumira Sea Lab can also lead to useful improvements, giving exploration a practical loop beyond filling a collection.

Sea Sniffers features more than 100 species, including fish, invertebrates, and rare mythological sea creatures, alongside vibrant pixel art and an original soundtrack by Jamphibious. Players tracking its 2027 release can save the game through the Playority Calendar for customized updates on timing, platform details, and availability. Direct project details are also available on the official website for Sea Sniffers.
