Company of Heroes – Definitive Edition will launch for PC via Steam in early 2027. Relic Entertainment is marking the 20th anniversary of its World War II RTS with a version built to preserve the original game’s identity, atmosphere, and tactical structure while updating it for modern systems.

This is not only a return of the base game. The Definitive Edition will include Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor, bringing together four factions, three full campaigns, three single-player stories, and more than 50 skirmish and multiplayer maps in one package. It will cost $29.99, £23.99, or €28.99, with a 30 percent discount for existing Company of Heroes owners on Steam.
The core remains the same formula that made the series stand out: squad-based tactics, destructible battlefields, classic RTS pressure, and a cinematic approach to World War II combat. The new edition keeps that foundation intact, but moves to an upgraded 64-bit platform designed to support modern PCs and remain compatible with two decades of community-made content, including mods.
The technical upgrades cover improved lighting, shadows, water, reflections, unit and environment textures, rendering features, and increased draw distance. Other changes include improved AI, a modernized user interface, grid key support, quality-of-life improvements, and optimization for widescreen and ultrawide displays.
The new Legacy Trailer revisits memorable moments from the original game while showing how this updated edition is being positioned for returning players and newcomers. Players tracking the 2027 release can save Company of Heroes – Definitive Edition through the Playority Calendar, where upcoming games can be followed on a personal account for customized updates on timing, availability, and useful details.
