Wales Interactive and Stormind Games have announced Sker: The Bleeding Veil, a new first-person survival horror game set in the Maid of Sker universe. Scheduled for spring 2027, the game will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. Its stealth-focused gameplay revolves around sound, which players must carefully manage to avoid enemies, explore environments and solve puzzles.

Set in 1924, following World War I and the events at Sker Hotel, the story follows Gareth Morgan as he searches for his younger sister, Elin. His journey takes him back to the orphanage where they grew up, now controlled by Sister Gwenllian. The former caretaker has turned the orphans into members of a cult devoted to the mysterious Siren’s Song, leaving Gareth to uncover what happened during his years away.
The orphanage is inhabited by the Hearers, enemies who lost their sight under Gwenllian’s care but developed an ability to hunt through sound. They investigate suspicious noises, search neighboring rooms and can even listen near hiding places when they suspect someone is nearby. Breaking glass, coughing or moving at the wrong moment can reveal Gareth’s position and attract unwanted attention.
Survival requires careful movement and an understanding of the surrounding environment. Players can hold their breath while enemies pass, choose quieter routes or use environmental sounds to conceal their movements. Noise can also become a distraction, creating opportunities to escape otherwise dangerous encounters.
Gareth will have access to musical instruments that serve different purposes. Tuning forks allow him to interact with the environment and solve harmonic puzzles, while a wind-up music box uses interchangeable cylinders to produce different effects. Certain melodies can stun, disorient or manipulate enemies, giving players a brief opportunity to move past them without being detected.
Sker: The Bleeding Veil is being developed jointly by Wales Interactive, the studio behind Maid of Sker and Sker Ritual, and Stormind Games, known for its work on the Remothered series. The collaboration brings another chapter to the Sker horror universe, with a new protagonist, a different setting and sound-based stealth at the center of the experience.
