Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 confirms Switch 2 with a new co-op trailer

Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is also coming to Switch 2 in fall 2026. Daybreak Game Company and Cold Iron Studios announced the new version alongside a cooperative gameplay trailer showing Colonial Marines trying to survive overwhelming Xenomorph attacks. PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store will launch first on August 25, while a specific date for the Nintendo version will be announced later.

The sequel expands the cooperative format to squads of up to four players. Xenomorphs can stalk corridors, ambush Marines from the shadows, and attack in large numbers, making coordination and fireteam composition increasingly important. The official website for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 confirms five main classes alongside the fully customizable Specialist endgame class, giving players more freedom to build a Marine around whatever role the squad needs.

Weapon customization also goes deeper through fire modes, Augments, and unique Weapon Traits that alter how the arsenal behaves. Smarter and more aggressive enemies are designed to react to player tactics, forcing teams to adjust rather than rely on one strategy. An updated Horde mode will provide additional challenges and rewards beyond the main missions.

Co-op will support cross-platform play together with newly added cross-platform voice chat, making it easier to form a squad across different systems. The Switch 2 announcement therefore widens the sequel’s reach further, although Nintendo players will have to wait beyond the August 25 launch planned for the other platforms.
