Ubisoft and Ubisoft Quebec have set Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced for July 9. The remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, with availability on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Pre-orders are already live, and Ubisoft is offering two editions at launch. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99, £49.99, or €59.99, while the Deluxe Edition costs $69.99, £59.99, or €69.99. Both editions include the Blackbeard’s Crimson Pack as a pre-order bonus, adding an Edward costume, a sword, and a pistol.
The announcement also confirms that this is more than a straight re-release. Ubisoft says the remake adds new content on top of the original story, including fresh storylines for Blackbeard and Stede Bonnet, three officers woven into the main narrative, new sea shanties, pets, and a photo mode. Those additions make the project look closer to a rebuilt version than a simple visual refresh.
Gameplay has also been updated. Combat has been rebuilt for more dynamic encounters, while stealth and parkour have been adjusted to make escapes and assassinations smoother. Naval mechanics have been expanded as well, with the Jackdaw now upgradable throughout the journey and new alternate fire modes for ship combat.
On PC, Ubisoft says the game supports modern upscaling and frame generation technologies, plus options for lower-end hardware and dedicated handheld presets. Console versions are also getting technical upgrades, including Dolby Atmos, ray tracing, and a PlayStation 5 Pro version with higher graphical fidelity and improved PSSR. The game only needs to go online once for installation, after which the full experience can be played offline.
The July 9 date is the main takeaway for players waiting on Black Flag’s return, but the rest of the details show that Resynced is being positioned as a broader remake with new story content, updated systems, and a full multi-platform release plan.
