Astonishia Story will launch in the west on February 11, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. NIS America will publish the remake of the Korean RPG originally released for MS-DOS in 1994, following its 2025 release in South Korea on Switch and PC via PURPLE.
The story follows Lloyd von Reuental on a quest to recover a stolen relic and regain his honor. The narrative is built around duty, manipulation and prejudice, while the Elven Queen seeks the power of an ancient god. What begins as a personal mission therefore grows into a wider conflict with the fate of the world at stake.
Combat is handled through grid-based battles, with units to position carefully, abilities to trigger at the right moment and movement to manage turn by turn. Success is not only about attacking the closest enemy. Distance, action order and party composition all feed into the tactical layer, especially as the group expands and new options become available.
Recruiting mercenaries is another important part of the structure. Talking to characters is not only a way to follow the story, because optional fighters can join the party and bring their own skill sets into battle. That gives players room to adjust the team around different situations, enemies and tactical needs.
