Beast of Reincarnation has received a new five-minute trailer focused on combat. Game Freak’s action RPG, published by Fictions, is planned for August 4 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, with Game Pass availability also confirmed. On Steam, PC pre-purchase is already live with a standard edition priced at €54.99 and a Deluxe Edition priced at €63.99.

The game takes place in post-apocalyptic Japan in the year 4026, across a world ravaged by blight and marked by forests suddenly rising through the wasteland. The story follows Emma, an outcast rejected by society because of her affliction, and Koo, a loyal blighted dog. The official website for Beast of Reincarnation puts their journey at the center, tying survival, trust and corrupted lifeforms to a world already twisted beyond recognition.
The combat overview explains the hybrid structure behind each encounter, mixing real-time action with tactical depth drawn from turn-based RPGs. Emma fights with her sword, while Koo can be given commands to trigger techniques, open space and help control the battlefield. Their synergy is not just a companion feature, but the foundation of the system, especially during team battles and larger blighted encounters.
Several key mechanics are placed at the center of the new footage. Players can break enemy Down Gauges, land precisely timed parries to restore FP and unleash Bloom Arts to shift the flow of battle. Progression runs through skill trees, gear and spirit stones, allowing different loadouts built around aggressive offense, ranged pressure or stealthier approaches.
Boss hunting also appears to be a major part of the adventure. Emma and Koo must face blighted bosses from different parts of the world, capture their powers and move closer to confronting the Beast of Reincarnation itself. The result is a single-player action RPG built around close combat, companion commands, resource management and a darker story where the bond between girl and dog matters as much as raw strength.
