Annapurna Interactive and Yarn Owl have delayed Demi and the Fractured Dream. The action adventure game is no longer planned for 2026 and will now launch on February 27, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store.
The game follows Demi as she journeys through the world of Somnus. Her identity as a Voidsent shapes both the story and the way she fights. The void curse is slowly consuming her, but it also gives her power, turning the same force that threatens her into the key to survival. Guided by a mysterious voice whispering from beyond, Demi must travel through beautiful and dangerous realms, from the wind-swept spires of the Desert Kingdom to the spiritual waters of the Marsh Kingdom.
The central threat comes from the three Accursed Beasts, legendary creatures that Demi must defeat to prevent a world-ending awakening. The adventure is not only about reaching those battles, but also about uncovering the protagonist’s place in this world. As the story unfolds, Demi’s role, her curse, and the true cost of her abilities are set to become increasingly important parts of the journey.
Gameplay combines action-adventure combat, dungeon exploration, environmental puzzles, and dynamic platforming. Players will use a wide range of attacks, spells, tools, and abilities to defeat void monsters and overcome obstacles across Somnus. Dodging with precise timing will activate void energy, temporarily strengthening the next sequence of attacks and rewarding clean reactions during combat. Progression will also include charms that enhance Demi’s abilities, allowing players to adapt her build to their preferred approach. Between combat encounters, puzzle-solving, and vertical exploration, Demi and the Fractured Dream is aiming for a classic adventure structure built around movement, timing, and the dangerous power of the void.
