Just2D and Deck13 Spotlight have announced Drova II – Torn Lands, a sequel to Drova – Forsaken Kin scheduled for PC and consoles in 2027. The action RPG returns to the Otherworld after the events of the first game, introducing a new story, two factions and expanded combat. Exploration will once again have no quest markers, preserving one of the predecessor’s defining design choices.

The Divinities have been freed, the Dark Fog appears to have disappeared and magic has returned to Drova. Those changes have not brought peace. A ravine now divides the land, with an unknown threat lurking in its depths. Territories previously concealed by the mist have become accessible, opening up a new world to investigate. The wilderness remains dangerous, with both familiar monsters and new creatures roaming beyond the settlements.
The divide also runs through the people living in the Otherworld. Different cultures are coming into conflict, and two factions have formed around their respective Divinities. Players must eventually decide whether to follow the Bear Mother or join the Great Ram. Choosing an allegiance places them within the tensions shaping these newly revealed lands, where the disappearance of the fog has left unresolved dangers.
Decisions will affect quest outcomes, the direction of the narrative and how the world develops. Torn Lands increases the number of choices available compared with Forsaken Kin, placing greater emphasis on the player’s role in the unfolding story. Some decisions will also lead to unavoidable battles, connecting the consequences of taking sides with the game’s action systems.
Combat builds on the foundations of the original while introducing more options, additional distinctive fighting styles and revised mechanics. Just2D is expanding and refining that existing system rather than abandoning its basic approach. Specific details about the new styles and individual mechanical changes have not yet been outlined, although combat variety is among the sequel’s stated areas of development.
The open world will be slightly larger than before, with a comparable level of detail. New cultures and locations will fill the territory exposed by the retreating fog, while the ravine forms a central feature of its geography and story. The continued absence of quest markers means that exploration retains the predecessor’s approach to letting players find their way through the world.
Drova II – Torn Lands is already in development for a 2027 release, but an exact date and the individual console platforms have not been specified. The project is supported by Games Fund Germany and Germany’s Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space.
