Game Pass is closing out August 2026 with another catalog update, covering day-one launches, new additions across multiple subscription tiers and a few titles already available. The lineup spans cloud, console, PC and handheld access depending on the game, with a mix of soulslike platforming, multiplayer survival, roguelite action, racing, narrative life sim and smaller experimental releases.
The update starts with Egging On, now available with Game Pass Premium and already part of Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. It is a physics-driven platformer built around a fragile egg trying to escape the henhouse, with jumps, rolls, climbs and hazardous environments standing between the player and freedom. The setup is simple, but the challenge is clearly built around control, timing and patience.
August 19 brings Vapor World: Over the Mind in Game Preview, available day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on cloud, console and PC. The game follows a boy trapped in a twisted dream, blending narrative-driven platforming with soulslike deflection combat and a dark world shaped by sorrow and regret. The same date also adds BlazBlue Entropy Effect X, a 2D roguelite action game set in the BlazBlue universe, and Relooted, an Africanfuturist heist game about reclaiming real African artifacts from western museums.
Starsand Island follows on August 20 with a calmer rhythm, focusing on pastoral island life, fishing, animals and exploration. August 25 is much busier: Aerial_Knight’s DropShot arrives as a high-speed stylized FPS racer, Blood Dungeon joins as a day-one 2D platforming survival game for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, and Once Human expands the lineup with multiplayer survival across cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC, including access through Game Pass Essential, Premium, Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
One of the biggest late-month additions lands on August 27 with Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy. The game arrives day one with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, following Sophia on a journey to the Minotaur’s Island through deadly trials, dangerous paths, puzzles, combat and an army in pursuit. On August 31, Young Suns reaches its 1.0 full release, offering a narrative life sim set after a successful revolution on Jupiter, playable solo or with up to three friends.
The update continues on September 1 with Shelldiver, an incremental game about a turtle catching jellyfish, selling them and upgrading equipment while exploring different biomes and ocean depths. The catalog is also losing several games. Another Crab’s Treasure, I Am Your Beast, Neon Abyss, One Lonely Outpost and The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt Remastered Edition leave Game Pass on August 31, while NBA 2K26 exits on September 6. Extra benefits are also included, with Once Human rewards starting August 25 and a World of Tanks Modern Armor XP bundle arriving September 1.
