Graytail will launch for Xbox Series X|S and PC in the fourth quarter of 2027. Developer Concode has confirmed a Microsoft Store release alongside the previously announced Steam version. The game is a 2.5D pixel-art mystery action adventure set on an island in the Pacific, combining investigation, exploration, puzzles, and combat.

The story begins when a famous pilot goes missing. A detective suffering from a constant headache takes the case, with the pilot’s daughter accompanying him. Together, they must uncover what happened on an island divided into five themed regions. Players can travel freely by motorcycle, explore different areas, and speak to the local residents. Conversations matter because clues may be buried in seemingly ordinary remarks. As the investigation continues, figuring out whom to trust becomes increasingly difficult.
Environmental puzzles are another important part of the adventure. They rely on physics and encourage players to make creative use of nearby objects rather than simply finding a key or following a fixed sequence. That approach also gives exploration a practical purpose, as understanding the surroundings may reveal how to get past an obstacle.
Combat offers more than eight weapons, including canes, umbrellas, and crossbows. The detective can perform three-hit combinations, heavy and spinning attacks, parries, and tracking dodges. Boss encounters will demand particular attention to enemy attack patterns, making observation just as important as striking back. Between the mystery surrounding the missing pilot, the island’s inhabitants, and the various combat and puzzle systems, Graytail aims to give players several ways to engage with its world.
