MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is preparing for release with a launch trailer focused on its lineup of heroes and villains. Developed by Arc System Works and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, the tag team fighting game launches on August 6, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. Its central format is four-versus-four combat, with 20 Marvel characters available at launch and a bold visual direction that reimagines familiar comic book figures through an anime-inspired style.
Team composition will be a major part of the fighting system. Selecting four characters opens different combinations of assists, combos, synergies, and strategies, allowing each lineup to support a particular approach. Battles take place across dynamic stages based on locations from the Marvel universe, with some arenas featuring interactive transitions that move the fight into another area. The controls include traditional and quick input options, alongside easy chain combos designed to help new players enter matches without removing the deeper techniques available to experienced fighting game fans.
MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls supports local multiplayer and online competition, including lobbies for up to 64 players and standard Versus modes. Episode Mode provides a single-player option focused on the relationships, lore, and dynamics surrounding each team. The Steam version also lists cross-platform multiplayer support. On compatible PC hardware, Ultra settings can deliver 4K visuals and a locked 60 frames per second during battles, while DualSense controller support adds haptic feedback to attacks and special moves.
On Steam, the standard edition costs €69.99, the Digital Deluxe Edition is €94.99, and the Ultimate Edition is €109.99. The Deluxe package includes the Year 1 Characters and Stage Pass, covering four post-launch fighters and one stage, as well as a Howard the Duck lobby avatar and Cosmo lobby pet. The Ultimate Edition adds alternate costumes for Spider-Man, Storm, Iron Man, Captain America, and Doctor Doom, plus an animated color option for all 20 launch characters.
