MXGP 26: The Official Game Announced for October

Nacon and Artefacts Studio have announced MXGP 26: The Official Game, a new licensed motocross entry launching in October 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The game covers the full 2026 championship, including official riders and all official tracks from the MXGP and MX2 categories. Its focus is clear: bring the real season into a dedicated racing package while updating the feel, presentation, and track behavior around current hardware.

The most important technical change is the move to Unreal Engine 5, used to rebuild lighting, textures, environmental detail, and rider animations. MXGP 26 is also built around dynamic track deformation, with terrain reacting in real time as wheels carve deeper ruts and open new racing lines. That change is presented as more than visual feedback: the evolving surface affects physics, forcing riders to read the track again as the race develops.

Content is structured around the official championship. Players can race across all 20 tracks of the season and compete in both MXGP and MX2, with several modes covering practice, solo challenges, and full competition. Compound is there for refining scrubs and whips, while Time Trial centers on chasing the fastest lap. Quick Race puts players on the grid against 20 riders, with variable race lengths and the pressure of taking the holeshot when the gate drops.

Championship mode gives the game its longer-form objective, with players working through the season and chasing the red plate. Online multiplayer adds direct competition and a global ranking for those who want to measure themselves beyond solo races. For motocross fans, MXGP 26 is built around a straightforward promise: licensed tracks and riders, a more modern technical base, and racing lines that change enough to make each lap less predictable. The “Warm Up” announcement trailer introduces that direction without narrowing the October window to a specific day.
