NBA 2K27 has been announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The new entry from 2K and Visual Concepts will launch on September 4, 2026, while players who buy the Deluxe Edition or Ultra Edition will get early access starting August 28, up to one week before the worldwide release. The reveal also confirms the three cover athletes attached to this year’s editions.
Victor Wembanyama, center for the San Antonio Spurs and the NBA’s first unanimous Defensive Player of the Year, will front the Standard Edition. Caitlin Clark, Indiana Fever guard, 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year, and three-time WNBA All-Star starter, will appear on the Deluxe Edition. Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls legend, three-time NBA All-Star, and the youngest MVP in NBA history, will be featured on the Ultra Edition.
The Standard Edition is priced at $69.99 and will be available across all announced platforms. The Deluxe Edition, priced at $99.99 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC, includes 100,000 VC, MyCAREER content, MyTEAM bonuses, and early access. The Ultra Edition launches on the same three platforms for $149.99, adding everything from the Deluxe Edition plus another 35,000 VC, the Season 1 Pro Pass, the Summer Season Pass Pro Pass Bundle for Seasons 7 to 9, MyCAREER items, and premium MyTEAM player cards. NBA 2K26 players who pre-order the Ultra Edition on the same platform will also receive a 10 percent discount.
NBA 2K27 will feature MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and MyNBA. The City returns as a central space for MyPLAYER progression, Crews, The REC, Park, and online competition. MyCAREER will focus on building a legacy through a story-driven path, while MyTEAM will let players collect NBA and WNBA stars for single-player and multiplayer lineups. Gameplay will again lean on ProPLAY, with lifelike animations translated from real NBA action. A gameplay trailer is scheduled to premiere on July 28.
