Prinny Party: Going Overboard! is coming west, with NIS America currently listing the release for fall 2026. In Japan and Asia, Nippon Ichi Software’s party game RPG will launch on November 12 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. The western version is planned as a digital release across the same platforms.
The new spin-off brings characters tied to the Disgaea series into a competitive board-game structure for 1-4 players. The official website for Prinny Party: Going Overboard! frames the game around roaming a park, raising stats through slots, fighting, tossing friends and enemies around, and surviving long enough to challenge the final boss.
The main loop is easy to read: move across the board, earn experience, buy stronger equipment and clear quests to prepare for Supreme Overboard and his Protago-Knights. When a boss appears, cooperation becomes the safest way to bring it down, because the strongest enemies are not built to be handled lightly. The problem is that defeating the boss is only the first half of the match.
Only the player who carries the beaten boss back to the starting point gets the final credit. That rule turns teamwork into a temporary agreement rather than a promise, creating room for ambushes, traps, direct attacks and last-second betrayals. Players can help the group just long enough to survive, then break away when the reward is close. The only shared limit is failure: if everyone dies at once, the whole party loses.
The board also includes build spaces where facilities such as hospitals and armories can be created and upgraded. Those buildings can help the player who made them, but they are not private property, so rivals can shop there too. The Assembly adds another layer of disruption by letting players pass unusual bills, including effects that triple damage, grant another move or create cannons strong enough to threaten powerful demons.
Prinny Party: Going Overboard! will support GameShare on Nintendo Switch 2 and Remote Play Together on Steam, allowing friends to join even without separate copies. With characters that differ in starting stats and slot layouts, bosses designed to push alliances into conflict, and a demo already available in Japan and Asia for PS5, Switch 2 and Switch, the game is built around chaotic sessions, short-term deals and betrayals that can flip the board at the worst possible time.
