RetroSpace will launch on October 1 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam. Developed by The Wild Gentlemen and published by Kwalee, the game is a first-person disco-punk space-horror shooter built around both stealth and direct action, letting players decide how clean or chaotic each encounter should become.

The game takes place aboard Aurora 5, a massive space station swallowed by a sentient black hole. In 2177, humanity’s last hope is the AURORA fleet, a convoy of city-sized stations searching for a new home. When one ship drifts off course, its corridors become infested with hybrid creatures, broken systems and time jumps between two different periods.
The protagonist is not a trained soldier, but a nameless janitor pushed into the role of humanity’s unlikely last chance. RetroSpace lets players handle obstacles in multiple ways: hiding in darkness, avoiding enemies, creating distractions, turning security systems into traps, hacking turrets or leaning into a louder, more aggressive style when stealth is no longer the safest option.
Aurora 5 is designed as a large interconnected station, with new areas, shortcuts and secret paths opening routes back to places already visited. That structure gives the game a metroidvania-like sense of progression, supported by a mostly peaceful central hub where players can regroup before returning to hostile corridors, mutants and cosmic anomalies.
Mutamods add another layer to the survival loop, enhancing combat and stealth with strange powers while carrying irreversible side effects. Death is also part of the journey, since Aurora can generate new clones of the protagonist, though each rebirth may bring degeneration and the need to recover gear from a previous body. Players tracking RetroSpace alongside other autumn releases can use the Playority Calendar to follow games through their account and receive personalized notifications, while more details are available on the official website for RetroSpace.
