Terranigma will launch on January 14, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Clear River Games is bringing the 1995 action RPG to modern platforms while preserving its real-time combat and adding features designed to make the adventure easier to revisit without erasing its original identity.

The story follows Ark, a young resident of Crysta, a village located in the Darkside of an Earth imagined as a hollow sphere divided between an external Lightside and an internal world. When Ark opens a forbidden door, he triggers a chain of events that will transform everything he knows and send him on a journey built around exploration, discovery, and the fate of the world.
Combat keeps the action-focused approach that helped Terranigma stand apart from more traditional JRPGs of its era. Ark fights with a spear and can perform thrusts, jumping attacks, dashes, and other moves under direct player control, giving battles a faster rhythm than a turn-based system.
The new Arranged Mode changes several parts of the classic experience. Magic deals increased damage, a mini map makes navigation easier, and players can save progress wherever they want. Other additions include a Quick Magic button, item hot-swapping, rewind, remappable controls, a music player, museum, and customizable backgrounds using high-resolution artwork. A CRT filter and multiple aspect ratios are also available for players who prefer a presentation closer to the original release.
Several physical editions are planned for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Switch 2. Alongside the Standard Edition, Clear River Games will offer a limited Foiled Standard Edition, SteelBook Edition, and a €199.99 / $199.99 Gaia Edition. The collector’s package includes the SteelBook contents, a Yomi figurine, Pandora’s Box replica with a music box, 200-page art book, soundtrack CD, Ark enamel pin, and cloth world map.
Players planning their January releases can add Terranigma to the Playority Calendar, saving it to a personal account for customized notifications and updates on release timing, platforms, and availability.
