Tropico 7 will launch on January 28, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store, with Game Pass availability planned as well. The new game from Gaming Minds Studios, published by Kalypso Media, puts El Presidente back in charge of gaming’s most satirical archipelago, mixing city building, political control and personal ambition in the usual Tropico style.
The campaign follows another chapter in El Presidente’s long-running rule across five main maps, with Penultimo returning at his side and a new rival entering the stage: Victoria Guerra. Management is not only about placing buildings and growing the economy, because Tropico 7 ties prosperity, control and public approval into a system where each decision can strengthen the regime or create new internal pressure.
The biggest visible addition is terraforming. Players can reshape the land, erase mountains, create beaches and even build entirely new islands, turning the archipelago into a tool for urban planning or presidential excess. The package also includes ten extra scenarios, more than twenty sandbox maps and a random map generator, giving structure to objective-driven sessions while leaving room for freer long-term construction.
Internal politics also move through the council, where different factions can be confronted face to face, manipulated or drawn into deals that benefit the government. Elections, speeches, edicts and foreign affairs return, while a reworked military system promises more direct control over units against rebels and outside threats. The presidential palace and El Presidente will also have new customization options.
