The Necrons take the spotlight in the latest faction trailer for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV, the third of four gameplay breakdowns focused on the playable armies. KING Art Games and Deep Silver present them as a methodical force built around relentless expansion rather than sudden aggression. Their strength grows as more of Kronus falls under their control, turning captured ground into part of a wider military network. The longer they remain established, the harder it becomes for opposing armies to break their hold on the battlefield.<\/p>\n

Dominion is the key resource behind that expansion. By spreading across the map, the Necrons can restore ancient structures and activate their Power Matrix, gradually shifting the war in their favor. The Tomb Citadel stands at the center of the growing empire, acting as the main production hub for units. Territory, economy, and battlefield pressure are therefore closely connected: every restored sector strengthens the Necron presence, supports their armies, and gives their self-repairing legions more opportunities to return after apparently decisive losses.<\/p>\n

Two commanders lead the faction. Chronomancer Thothmek bends time to disrupt enemy forces and accelerate Necron reanimation, extending battles that other armies might believe are already won. Ahmnok, the former ruler of Kronus, is driven by the complete destruction of organic life. His forces combine durable constructs, regeneration, and ancient technology capable of manipulating both space and time. Dawn of War IV launches on September 17, 2026, while Commander Edition owners can begin playing on September 14 through three days of early access. Both editions are available to pre-order with a 10 percent discount. Post-launch support will include free updates, the return of Crusade mode, new maps, modes, commanders, and a mission editor. The Year One plan also includes two major story expansions focused on the war for Kronus, along with a new playable faction. The full game will feature nonlinear campaigns, multiplayer battles, Skirmish, Last Stand, and additional modes.<\/p>\n
