Wreckreation 2 has been announced for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC via Steam. The sequel to 2025’s open-world arcade racing game does not have a release date yet, but it introduces When Tides Turn, the new studio founded by Criterion Games co-founder Fiona Sperry. The project is built around the feel of arcade driving, where races become constant battles shaped by risk, reaction and aggressive decision-making.
The official website for Wreckreation 2 places slams, shortcuts and takedowns at the center of every race. Winning is not only about finding the cleanest racing line. Players need to read rivals, choose the right moment to attack, force mistakes and turn small openings into position gains before the pack has time to recover.
The main setting is Heartbreak City, an open world designed around road combat. Each neighborhood has its own character, from dense downtown streets to sweeping overhead freeways, airport runways, huge dockyards and hidden backroads. Learning the city becomes part of the advantage, because a mastered route or discovered shortcut can change how a race unfolds once the pressure rises.
The event list is built to keep that pressure moving. Alongside standard Races, Wreckreation 2 includes Road Rage, Marked Man, Pursuits, Blackspots, Wreckonings and Eliminators, each shifting the goal and the way players read the road. Sometimes the point will be to fight for first place; other times it will be about surviving chaos, escaping a threat, hunting rivals or staying alive as the last car standing.
Live Mix adds a creative layer by letting players create and share their own experiences. Together with cross-platform multiplayer listed for the Steam version, that points to a sequel designed around both authored events and player-made ways to use Heartbreak City. For now, Wreckreation 2 remains undated.
