1001 Threads of Mizan Takes Co-op Fantasy Beyond Familiar Mythology

1001 Threads of Mizan has been announced as a new fantasy action adventure from MBC Game Studio, planned for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The game does not have a release date yet, but its Gamescom reveal positions it as a large-scale adventure rooted in the folklore and stories of One Thousand and One Nights, moving away from the familiar European mythological base used by many big-budget fantasy games.

The story follows an ancient, power-hungry Jinn trying to tear down the barrier between the physical world and the spiritual realm. To make that happen, it has unleashed lesser Jinn across Mizan, forcing players to fight supernatural enemies and enormous bosses while following an original tale that draws on several pieces of Arabian Nights tradition. The adventure can be played solo or in co-op with one or two friends, with three hero characters available, each built around unique move sets and skill trees.

The magic carpet is the system that changes the feel of the game most clearly. It is not just a travel tool or visual signature. Players can take flight at any time to evade attacks, reposition during combat and strike back from above. Moving between ground and air is designed to feel seamless, and aerial combat is meant to be just as effective as fighting on foot. That gives even standard encounters a vertical rhythm, where movement, distance and timing matter as much as weapons or abilities.

The carpet becomes especially important during boss fights. One demonstrated encounter against the Jinn Nazjush used multiple phases, with players damaging armor, avoiding thrown objects in flight and then targeting the eleven eyes on the boss’s crown during a damage phase. The structure points toward large cooperative set pieces with some raid-like complexity, but on a smaller scale than games built around six-player coordination.

Difficulty options are planned, though the final shape of those settings is still being worked out. Solo play is being treated as the baseline, while co-op will scale up mechanical complexity and enemy count.
