Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 announced for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC

Bandai Namco and Dimps have officially announced Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, confirming a 2027 release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam. The game was previously known as Dragon Ball New Game Project AGE 1000, so the reveal also gives the project its final name and first release window.

The new entry is being positioned as a fresh Dragon Ball experience set in an unexplored future timeline. Bandai Namco says it features original characters created by Akira Toriyama, with West City serving as one of the main locations players will explore as the story unfolds.

Another concrete detail is the Great Saiyan Squad, which the player is guided into during the story. That suggests a narrative setup built around allies and progression through events in West City, although no gameplay systems, combat changes, or structural differences from earlier Xenoverse games have been detailed yet.

A new trailer and a gallery of screenshots were released alongside the announcement, giving the first look at the game’s tone and setting. Beyond that, the confirmed information is still limited to the platforms, the 2027 launch window, and the basic premise of the project.

The return of the Xenoverse name matters because it signals Bandai Namco and Dimps are continuing a recognizable Dragon Ball sub-series rather than starting from scratch. That can be read as a sign of continuity, but the announcement also suggests a broader world-building approach thanks to the new future setting and the focus on a different version of West City.

What has not been explained yet is just as important. There is no word on how much of Xenoverse 3 will remain close to Xenoverse 2, whether the combat system is being reworked, or how the story structure will differ. For now, the reveal is mostly about identity, setting, and platform support rather than mechanics.

The screenshots help fill in some of that picture by showing a project that aims to expand the Dragon Ball universe with new characters and a distinct visual framing for its future-era world. Even so, the release is still far away, which means more concrete details will need to arrive before players can judge how ambitious the sequel really is.

For now, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is confirmed, dated for 2027, and headed to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC. Everything else, from gameplay changes to content scope, remains to be revealed in future updates.
