Winds of Viridia is coming to PC and Nintendo Switch 2 simultaneously in the first quarter of 2027. The single-player action adventure takes players into a wild region dominated by a towering Great Tree, where animals have been driven into a mysterious frenzy. A free demo has also been announced for October 28, giving players an early opportunity to see how exploration and combat work.

The journey will lead through mountain clearings, hidden caves, forgotten settlements and ancient ruins, with movement abilities playing a major part in reaching new areas. Players can roll, slide, backflip and grapple across the environment, while unusual plants help them jump higher or travel farther. Rather than being limited to the spaces between encounters, travelling through the world is intended to be a central part of the adventure.
Combat will focus on speed and mobility, with dozens of creatures to face alongside larger bosses that include enormous beasts, living statues and guardians from the distant past. A moth-like companion will join the protagonist, providing help in battle as well as during exploration. Between expeditions, players can return to the Sanctuary to assist its inhabitants and improve their abilities, while relics discovered throughout the world can be equipped and combined as totems to shape different approaches to combat.
The game will also feature an orchestral soundtrack by Kevin Penkin and Christopher Larkin. Although an exact release date has not yet been announced, both versions are planned for the same day. Players who want to keep track of the launch can add Winds of Viridia to their wishlist through the Playority calendar and receive notifications about updates.
