Unrailed 2: Back on Track leaves Early Access on June 11 and launches on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The launch price is $19.99, while preorders are already available at $14.99.
The full release ends a PC Early Access period that began on November 7, 2024. It also broadens the game’s reach beyond its original PC launch, with console versions joining the Steam release on the same day.
At its core, the game is a co-op railroad builder where players keep a train moving across procedurally generated worlds. The journey runs through six biomes, each with its own mechanics and a boss at the end, while stations along the way unlock new wagons, cartridges, and other train upgrades.
Progress carries over through permanent upgrades for characters, engines, wagons, and extensions. The Terrain Conductor mode lets players create and share custom maps, and the package also includes Time, Sandbox, and Versus modes, plus online leaderboards and action replays for 8-player competition.
The Early Access version has already built a strong response on Steam, with more than 1,500 positive reviews and an 89% favorable rating. That reception gives the 1.0 launch a clear baseline as the game moves to its full release and new platforms.
