Bandai Namco and TOSE have announced Tales of Eternia Remastered, a new version of the action RPG coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game will launch on October 15 in Japan and October 16 worldwide. A Digital Deluxe Edition will also be available, including a digital art book, soundtrack, and item downloadable content.

The remaster brings players back to Eternia, a world split into two isolated realms: Inferia and Celestia. The story begins in the remote Inferian village of Rasheans, where Reid Hershel and his childhood friend Farah Oersted meet Meredy, a mysterious girl whose origins are unknown. Their journey to discover where she comes from leads the group toward a much larger threat: the Great Fall, a collision that could endanger both worlds.
To stop that catastrophe, Reid and his companions must harness the power of elemental spirits known as the Greater Craymels. The structure remains that of a classic Tales of adventure, with a party of characters growing through battles, discoveries, and the bonds formed along the way. Combat is still built around the Aggressive Linear Motion Battle System, which delivers fast 2D action through Arte usage, continued combos, and coordination with each party member’s strengths.
This remastered version also adds quality-of-life features designed to make the experience easier to play today. Destination markers, the option to disable enemy encounters, and a high-speed mode during auto-battle will help smooth out exploration and progression. Graphics and sound effects can also be toggled between modes, giving players a choice between a refreshed presentation and a more nostalgic atmosphere closer to the original game. The announcement was accompanied by trailers in both English and Japanese.
