Lofsöng Turns Sound, Brutalism and a Dead Earth Into a Puzzle Adventure

Lofsöng is an exploration puzzle adventure in development for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. The game from Turin-based independent team Unrelated Studio takes players across a long-dead Earth, now reduced to a gray desert of dust and ash, where the last traces of humanity survive through stone, sound and monumental architecture rather than spoken language.

The player controls a childlike figure wearing strange, bulky headgear, accompanied by a shapeshifting origami companion. There is no dialogue, no map and no obvious guiding interface. Progress depends on attention, listening and reading the world carefully. The question behind the journey is simple only on the surface: how can we communicate with the future, or with whatever version of the future is already buried inside the planet’s remains?

Exploration moves through vast brutalist landscapes shaped by deep time, including an Exclusion Zone trapped in an endless nuclear winter. The closer the journey gets to the epicenter, the further it drifts into the cosmic unknown. The origami companion expands traversal by changing form, becoming a kite, glider or sailboat to carry the player across the Dust Sea as new parts of the world open up.

The puzzles are built around sound. Objects, sculptures and mechanisms respond to vibration, while every monument appears designed to be read through geometry and echoes. Lofsöng is not about rushing through objectives; it asks players to leave sound traces, connect out-of-order clues and piece together a buried history at their own pace.
