Maneater 2 has been announced for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The new ShaRkPG published by Tripwire Interactive and developed by Demiurge Studios returns to the first game’s wildest idea: an open-world action RPG where the protagonist does not save the world, but eats it.
This time, the hunt moves to Neptune’s Kingdom, an ultra-luxury seaside theme park preparing for an invite-only preview event. The problem for everyone involved is that the most dangerous attraction is not on the official schedule. Players must eat, explore, evolve and escape from a resort built on scientific malpractice, corporate greed and decisions that were clearly terrible long before the shark arrived.
The core loop is still built around predation. The park is filled with pufferfish, jumbo crab, piranha, grouper and human visitors, all ready to become fuel for growth. Exploration moves through monumental architecture, tourist attractions, places such as Mojitodale and secrets hidden in the depths, turning the open world into a massive buffet of shortcuts, targets and bloody opportunities.
Evolution comes through genetic modification. Neptune’s Kingdom has already developed five different enhancements, pushing the local ecosystem far beyond natural limits and giving the player new ways to adapt, fight and cause damage. The tone keeps the same mix of satire and violence, helped by the return of disgraced reality TV host Trip Westhaven, voiced by Chris Parnell, as the narrator guiding the disaster from a safe distance.
