Thank You Bus Driver is the new game from Double Fine Productions, planned for PC via Steam, GOG, Humble Store and itch.io. It does not have a release date yet, but the premise is already clear: a chaotic comedy simulation where a town bus driver tries to get through the day with minimal rulebreaking while earning as much passenger gratitude as possible.

The job does not sound easy. Bus rules change every day, the depot keeps adding more, and some passengers will be ready to break them. Players have to keep order on board through blunt methods. A slap may be enough to remind rulebreakers who runs the route, while repeat offenders can lose their right to stay on the bus altogether.
Driving is the other half of the problem. The goal is to reach the next stop before time runs out, even when that means checking the map at the worst possible moment, taking an improvised shortcut through a corn field or dealing with obstacles that probably should have been avoided. Pedestrians, traffic and fences become part of the same controlled chaos, because arrival matters before passengers get upset.
The Thank Yous system acts as the fuel for each run. The happier the riders are, the more time the driver has to reach the next stop. Collecting more gratitude also unlocks extra bus decorations, town variants and other rewards designed to keep the routes moving. The tone is built around an absurd workday where discipline, speed and near-disasters all share the same steering wheel.
