Eternal Anima will launch on March 4, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. Marvelous’ new RPG is the project previously known as Project Life is RPG, now shaped into an adventure openly inspired by late 1990s and early 2000s JRPGs, with modern visuals and a time-travel structure built around tactical choices.
The story follows Wade in the kingdom of Urvis Ael, where yearning for a better future is treated as a capital offense. After questioning that rule, he becomes a fugitive and is pulled into a journey across eras, trying to save civilizations of the past from catastrophes while uncovering the hidden truths of a lost history.
Combat remains turn-based, but Future Sight gives each round a tactical edge. Wade can predict when enemies will act and what the outcome of the turn will be, then use commands to change that future: prepare for incoming damage, act before an opponent, or cancel an enemy move entirely. Psychometry adds another layer by letting him read memories stored inside objects and inherit abilities and classes from heroes of the past.
The adventure also leans on generational links. Wade’s party travels across continents with distinct cultures, meets ancestors and descendants, and learns how actions in the past can reshape the present. That familiar JRPG premise is tied directly to party growth, class building, and the idea of carrying power across eras rather than simply watching history unfold.
Players tracking 2027 releases can also follow Eternal Anima through the Playority Calendar, where upcoming games can be saved to a personal account so release dates, platforms, notifications, and personalized updates are easier to monitor when new information changes.
Physical editions are planned in North America for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 alongside digital releases. In Europe, standard editions for PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 will cost €49.99, while the limited edition will cost €79.99 and include a two-disc soundtrack, character art cards with a display stand, and an art book.
