The Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light has been delayed from its planned summer 2026 window to March 2027. IO Interactive has not announced an exact date yet, so James Bond’s debut on Nintendo’s new console is currently tied only to a broader launch month.
The delay applies only to Switch 2. 007 First Light has already been available since May 27 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, while the Nintendo version had already been separated from the main launch to allow more development time.
The goal of the extra time is to polish performance on Switch 2. For a third-person action adventure built around a reimagined Bond origin story, that technical work matters: mission flow, combat responsiveness, environmental detail, and overall stability can all shape how the game feels in practice.
The project is not disappearing from the schedule, but it is moving further away from the other versions. That means a longer wait for players who wanted the portable or hybrid version, especially after positive feedback from the gamescom demo and ahead of the same demo appearing at Tokyo Game Show.
The practical takeaway is simple: players who want 007 First Light now can play it on PS5, Xbox Series, or PC. Anyone waiting for Switch 2 will have to wait until March 2027, with the final release date still to be confirmed.
