ACORN: Seed of Resistance is a newly announced roguelike RPG auto battler coming to PC via Steam in 2027. Developed by Guidelight Games and published by Ghost Ship Publishing, it follows the survivors of an order that once swore to protect the realm. Betrayal from within nearly destroyed it, and its remaining members are now persecuted for crimes they had tried to prevent. Rebuilding that order becomes the goal connecting individual expeditions.

Each mission begins with a lone hero. As you travel, you can recruit refugees, mercenaries and other allies, assembling a party from the people willing to join your cause. Companions can be trained and equipped, with levels, skills and party-wide relics offering different ways to develop a build. One group might rely on summons, another on explosive chain reactions, while a third could invest heavily in a single powerful fighter.
Exploration takes place across procedurally generated lands containing hidden sites, treasure, enemy patrols, strongholds and roaming monsters. Choosing a route is part of surviving the journey: patrols can be ambushed, threats can be avoided, and supplies can be gathered before making camp to recover health. Camping also involves cooking and guard duties. The campaign includes difficult decisions, such as whether to spare misled peasants who attack you or sacrifice a companion to gain the power needed for a greater fight.
Before combat, you position the party and decide whether to spend consumables on traps, fire bombs and barricades. Battles then play out automatically. The decisions that matter are made through equipment, abilities, team composition and preparation, including whether to use scarce supplies now or save them for what lies ahead. The aim is to turn a collection of unlikely allies into a group whose abilities work together under pressure.
Individual roguelike adventures are expected to last roughly fifteen minutes, but they contribute to a broader campaign. Between missions you restore a hidden base, unlock additional heroes and leaders, and take on increasingly difficult assignments. ACORN combines those short runs with a longer struggle to rebuild the resistance, all within a dark fantasy world inhabited by animal characters. Its 2027 release window is the only timing announced so far; a specific date has not been given.
