Alpha Nomos launches October 12 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam. Developed by RibCage Games, it is a rhythm-action roguelite that makes timing central to combat rather than treating music as background. Attacks, dodges and abilities all follow the beat, and a new release date trailer accompanies the announcement.

Players control Cello as she moves through a succession of arenas populated by corrupted puppets. Striking in time makes her attacks more powerful; missing the rhythm brings a penalty from the room. Her weapons are instruments, with sounds captured in live studio recordings rather than assembled from a sample library. The connection between what players do and what they hear runs through each encounter.
Powerups add another layer to that relationship. Reverb, Flanger and Delay change both Cello’s fighting style and the sound of the music, with four further audio effects planned for the full release. The mix responds to the player’s actions as they happen, so changing an ability affects more than the outcome of a fight: it also changes the track accompanying it.
The roguelite structure takes Cello through advancing arenas, while upgrades can carry over from one run to the next. A timing offset lets players adjust how the game lines up with the beat. Totem Warriors composed the original score, which was recorded live for a game built around musical timing rather than simply played over its action.
Beyond the arenas lies a world where time and space have collapsed. Cello searches abandoned cities and a corrupted circus, trying to uncover the cause of the devastation and the fate of her friends. The game’s “puppetcore” look draws on clown faces, empty streets and puppets, giving its ruined locations a distinct visual identity alongside the rhythm-driven combat.
The Playority Calendar lets players track Alpha Nomos alongside other upcoming PC and console releases. An account can be used to save games by platform in a personal list and receive updates when dates, platforms or trailers change.
