BeamNG.drive will launch in Early Access for PlayStation 5 on October 19, 2026. This will be the driving simulation’s first console release, following its PC Early Access debut in May 2015. The PS5 version arrives around the time of update 0.40 on PC and will include a new vehicle from day one.

Vehicle physics sit at the center of BeamNG.drive. Its soft-body system simulates individual components in real time, so a collision affects the vehicle rather than simply playing a fixed damage animation. Players can experiment with dozens of customizable vehicles, from small cars to heavy trucks, and adjust their engines, suspension, wheels, and other parts to change how they handle.
There are twelve open-world environments to explore, with routes through cities, deserts, jungles, and highways. Free roam lets players test vehicles and setups without following a specific objective. It also allows changes to environmental conditions, including wind speed and gravity. For a more directed experience, the career mode offers progression from modest beginnings toward a larger collection of vehicles. Separate scenarios cover activities such as truck deliveries, police pursuits, and time trials.
On PS5, the release will also feature local split-screen play. Technical additions include FSR 3 support on the standard PS5 and PSSR support on PS5 Pro. Update 0.40 also brings visual improvements and general fixes alongside the new vehicle. Those additions are part of the console launch period, while the PC version will receive the update around the same time.
One difference between the platforms will matter to players familiar with the PC release: PlayStation mod support will not be available at launch. BeamNG is exploring the possibilities, but has given no timetable or confirmed scope for console mods. Creation tools such as the World Editor are not currently planned for PS5 either. The October release brings the vehicle sandbox, career mode, scenarios, and local split-screen to console, while the broader PC mod ecosystem remains outside the launch package.
