NC, formerly known as NCSOFT, has launched the official Steam page for Cinder City, the new cinematic open-world third-person shooter developed by BigFire Games. The page launch is accompanied by new screenshots, key art, and a Developer Video Preview featuring footage from the current development build. Players can already add the game to their wish lists to receive future updates, while the official website and dedicated Discord channel have also been refreshed for the project.

Cinder City is set in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic Seoul located in a parallel version of the 21st century. The world’s history diverged from reality after a mysterious event in the 23rd century. The megacity has been devastated by mutants and criminal organizations, leaving humanity in a desperate position. The last hope comes from the Cinder Knights, super soldiers tasked with fighting the threats that now control a city transformed into a vast battlefield.
Players take the role of Seven, one of the Cinder Knights, who is driven by a deeply personal mission: finding and rescuing his daughter, Joi. The journey begins in the Samseong-dong area, but Seven’s search will lead him toward the hidden truths of Megacity Seoul and revelations capable of changing humanity’s fate. The game is therefore built around a strong narrative core, supported by encounters with different characters and situations designed to make the hero’s path feel more personal.
The project focuses on three main elements: cinematic third-person shooting, a large open world, and large-scale multiplayer PvE content. The city is not meant to be only a backdrop for combat, but an evolving space where exploration, action, and cooperation can exist together. Its PvE activities are designed to place multiple players in shared challenges, asking them to adapt to changing situations, work together, and face threats that do not appear built for a single person to overcome alone.
In the new developer video, Lead Concept Artist Samuel King and Project Manager GH Shin introduce the game’s creative direction and show a ruined Seoul shaped by mutated creatures, widespread crime, and infrastructure altered by disaster. The tone remains grounded in dark urban science fiction, but the stated goal is to bring story, action, and co-op gameplay into one connected experience. Its cinematic focus also suggests a production looking to use the scale of the city and Seven’s story to give more weight to missions and exploration sequences.
For now, no release date or additional platforms have been announced beyond the Steam page. Cinder City already stands out as an ambitious project built around a futuristic metropolis, a family-driven search, and a cooperative PvE model aiming to make its devastated version of Seoul a world players can explore and defend together.
