Croc 2 remaster brings over 40 levels back on October 29

Croc 2: Kingdom of the Gobbos will launch on October 29 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG. Argonaut Games has dated its remaster of the 1999 3D platformer, following the studio’s 2025 remaster of Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. The sequel brings back more than 40 levels and adds a digital collection documenting how the original game was made.

The adventure begins with the Dantinis resurrecting Baron Dante and imprisoning Professor Gobbo after he witnesses their actions. Elsewhere, Croc finds a message in a bottle on the beach telling him that his birth parents are looking for him. He sets out for the mainland to find them, only to face Dante again as the Baron seeks revenge for their previous encounter.

Players will travel between four villages with different Gobbo communities: the coastal Sailor Village, snowy Cossack Village, prehistoric Caveman Village, and mountaintop Inca Village. Along the way, Croc takes on missions and rescues captured Gobbos. Crystals collected during the journey can be spent on gadgets at Swap Meet Pete’s General Store. Pete’s Crystal Ball also provides a way to travel between the villages, connecting the different parts of the adventure.

Croc retains his familiar jump and spinning tail attack, while a new triple jump gives him another way to gain height. The levels include more than running and jumping: players can race cars and speedboats, ride minecarts, use a hang glider, and fly an airplane. New Guardians stand in Croc’s path, including Soveena the Squid, the skeleton-crewed pirate captain Cannon Boat Keith, and Flavio the Thermal Fish, who attacks with scalding water.

The remaster also includes the Croc2pedia, a digital museum of materials from the original production. It contains design documents, marketing items, animation tests, and 3D models of characters, levels, and objects that did not appear in the released game. Interviews with original Argonaut staff and people involved in the remaster add further context. Players following Croc 2 and other upcoming releases can add games to their accounts through the Playority Calendar to keep track of release dates and receive updates.
