DEEPWARD has a demo available on Steam and is scheduled for a PC release in the first quarter of 2027. ECHOFALL GAMES’ horror FPS roguelite takes place in an alternate 1920s. Players select three heroes from a roster of six and can switch between them instantly during combat. Losing a hero is permanent, making the condition of the whole squad a concern in every fight.

Each character has a separate health pool, stamina, movement speed, weapon, and special ability. Switching can put a different weapon or skill into play, or move a wounded teammate out of danger. Encounters involve shooting, kicking, and slashing through crowded rooms while staying mobile. Sanity also affects what the player sees, adding uncertainty as the squad pushes farther underground.
The expedition leads through gothic interiors, caves, prisons, and ritual chambers. The surroundings grow stranger with depth, while journals and conversations with the crew gradually reveal the story behind the mission. Meeting the heroes gives players only part of the picture; further details emerge as they progress.
ECHOFALL GAMES is both the developer and publisher of DEEPWARD. Steam currently lists a release window of January through March 2027, without a specific date. The demo offers a way to try the game now, and the official DEEPWARD website has a signup for future playtests and development updates.
