The game comes from the studio behind Forgive Me Father and moves the team into a full 3D structure while keeping its comic-book identity and a darker tone. Its setting is an industrial dystopia controlled by a corporation, where the protagonist gains access to the Core-ID administrator module and immediately becomes the system’s main target.

Several concrete gameplay details are also part of the announcement. DIOXIDE includes modular weapon customization, a hidden sanctuary to build and manage as a base, and progression tied to the survival of humanity’s remaining population. The world spans soot-choked production zones, a toxic undercity, and a heavily guarded upper-class district, with each area offering resources to gather and enemies tied to the corporate order.

Byte Barrel frames the project as a high-stakes experience built around combat, resource pressure, and long-term survival. The combination of first-person shooting, tactical choices, and sanctuary management gives DIOXIDE a structure that goes beyond a standard action shooter and leans into a hybrid design with survival and progression systems.
