Square Enix has announced Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC. No release date has been announced yet. In Japan, the game will be released as Dragon Quest Monsters 4, and it brings back Bianca and Nera, both familiar from Dragon Quest V: Hand of the Heavenly Bride.

The announcement confirms a broad platform rollout from the start, including PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store. That makes the game one of the more widely distributed entries in the Dragon Quest Monsters line, even though Square Enix has not shared timing details yet.
At this stage, there are still no details about gameplay structure, battle systems, monster collection, price, editions, or supported languages. The reveal is therefore centered on the return of two recognizable characters and on the list of platforms rather than on mechanical specifics.
For now, the most concrete takeaway is that Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World is in development for current consoles, Nintendo’s next-generation hardware, and PC. More information will be needed to show how this new entry will evolve the series formula.
