Keen Games has announced that Enshrouded will leave Early Access on October 15, 2026 for PC via Steam and PlayStation 5. The Xbox Series X|S version, which had originally been planned alongside the other platforms, will instead launch in spring 2027. The studio chose to move the Microsoft console release in order to spend more time on performance, optimization, and polishing, avoiding a version that would not meet the quality standards set for the game’s 1.0 debut.

Enshrouded has been available in Early Access for PC since January 24, 2024 and has received eight major updates during development. Those updates expanded Embervale with three new biomes, creatures, weapons, armor, building materials, decorations, and other additions. The team also introduced dynamic water, a particularly demanding feature for a game built around a modifiable voxel world where exploration, crafting, and construction are closely connected.
Version 1.0 will mark the project’s full transition from open development to a complete release. Keen Games has confirmed that more details on the final version’s content will be shared this summer, but the core experience will remain familiar to the existing community: survival systems, action RPG combat, resource gathering, freeform building, and online co-op. Players take the role of Flameborn, the last hope of a fading race, tasked with restoring light and life to a continent corrupted by the Shroud.
Embervale is designed as a large region to explore through ruins, forests, dry wastelands, and areas covered by deadly fog. Rare materials, dangerous creatures, and secrets tied to the kingdom’s fall can all be found within the Shroud. Combat allows players to face corrupted factions and bosses with melee weapons, shields, bows, magic, and special skills, creating builds that lean toward warrior, ranger, or wizard playstyles. Progression also depends on crafting and upgrading increasingly powerful equipment.
Another major pillar is the voxel building system, which allows players to reshape the terrain and create detailed bases ranging from practical shelters to elaborate castles and settlements. NPCs can be housed in those structures, unlocking workshops and new crafting opportunities. Co-op supports up to eight players, who can explore, fight, build, and face the dangers of the Shroud together. With the PS5 and PC release now locked in, Enshrouded is entering its final stretch toward 1.0, while Xbox players will need to wait a few additional months.
