Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Ends the Remake Trilogy in April 2027

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation finally has a release date: the closing chapter of the remake trilogy will launch on April 8, 2027. Square Enix has set a simultaneous release for PlayStation 5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC, avoiding separated platform windows and bringing the finale of the modern Final Fantasy 7 project to a wider audience from day one.

The announcement arrived alongside a new gameplay trailer, giving players a first look at some of the features planned for Revelation. The game is the third entry in the path that began with Final Fantasy 7 Remake and continued with Rebirth, which means it has the difficult job of resolving the remaining story threads and delivering the final act of Cloud’s reimagined journey.

One important detail concerns the structure of the story. The base game will mark the definitive end of the trilogy and is not expected to be followed by an additional epilogue DLC. That makes the April release a major moment for players who have followed the project from the beginning, especially after years of debate around narrative changes, expectations and how this version of Final Fantasy 7 would eventually close.
