Nintendo and Intelligent Systems have announced that Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave will launch on September 17 for Nintendo Switch 2. The new entry in the strategy RPG series will be priced at $69.99 digitally and $79.99 physically. A Dagdan Collection special edition will also be available for $119.99, including a SteelBook case, a set of character art cards, a map of Dagda, and a 200-page art book.

The story takes players to the Dagdan Empire, a prosperous land ruled by the gods, where the Heroic Games are about to begin. Fighters from across the realm gather in the capital city of Dagsion to compete for a remarkable prize: the chance to have one wish granted. Among the combatants are four heroes whose fortunes are tied to the fate of the world, setting up a time-traveling saga of strength, steel, ambition, and consequence.
The main characters are Cai, a young boy determined to win the games and save his imprisoned father; Dietrich, a ruthless swordsman always searching for a stronger opponent; Theodora, a queen trying to fulfill the long-held dream of her homeland; and Leda, a talented musician driven by revenge. Each hero brings a different reason for entering the Heroic Games, turning the tournament into more than a simple contest of strength.
Preparation between matches will be a major part of the structure. Players can explore Dagda and Dagsion, train at the grounds, learn techniques, hone skills, recruit allies, and build bonds of friendship. Traveling beyond the city walls will open opportunities to fight bandits and monsters, explore dungeons, gain experience, and gather resources to strengthen the army. Time is limited, so every action taken before the next match can influence how prepared the group is when the tactical battles begin.
Combat keeps the strategic turn-based identity of Fire Emblem. Players will command units against enemy forces, study each fighter’s strengths and weaknesses, and use the heroes’ special abilities to shift the momentum of battle. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave appears to frame the classic tactical formula inside a more competitive and ceremonial setting, where the promise of a divine wish gives every rivalry, alliance, and battlefield decision a personal weight.
