Forge of the Fae is coming in March 2027. Developer Datadyne and publisher Deck13 Spotlight have announced the release window for their pixel-art RPG with a new trailer, following roughly five years of development. The game is heading to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The PC version will be available through Steam and GOG.

Drawing on classic JRPGs, the adventure takes place in a fantasy world shaped by Celtic folklore and the atmosphere of 19th-century Ireland. Players follow Fiora, a young inventor investigating a string of mysterious disappearances alongside her companions. Her search unfolds as a miners’ strike turns violent and a mining company brings in mercenaries to suppress the unrest. The Fae, once creatures of children’s stories, are a very real danger in this setting.
Combat uses a turn-based structure with several systems for building different strategies. ARC Crystals let players customize skills and magic, including combinations that pair an ability with a spell for additional effects. The Adrenaline system introduces special moves that can be performed without spending a turn. Exploiting elemental weaknesses also plays a role when confronting enemies.
Outside combat, the game features exploration and environmental puzzles, with optional areas, useful items, and hidden details about its world to discover. Fiora’s Mechanical Faerie can be upgraded and used to open paths and uncover secrets. Choices made throughout the journey affect relationships and the direction of the story, potentially leading to the awakening of an ancient threat.
The newly released trailer confirms the March launch window, although no specific day has been announced. A free demo is already available on Steam for anyone who wants to try the PC version ahead of release.
