Kemuri will launch in 2027 for PlayStation 5 consoles. The new game from Ikumi Nakamura’s Unseen Inc. was introduced during the June 2026 State of Play, showing a first look at its gameplay, paranormal city setting, yokai hunters, and highly stylized action.

The trailer presents a large urban environment filled with yokai demons and fast movement. Hunters leap through the air, move across rooftops, and even skate up skyscrapers while fighting with flashy attacks. The result is a game with a bright color palette, sharp visual identity, and a strong sense of speed built into the way characters cross the city.
Kemuri is set in Kemuri City, a place where yokai hunters from around the world gather for their own reasons. Each hunter carries a different culture, past, and personal loss, giving the premise a human angle behind the supernatural threat. The city is not just a backdrop, but the center of the game’s paranormal anomalies.
Players take the role of a yokai hunter who can use the Fox Window to reveal things hidden from ordinary sight. Growth comes from finding yokai, forming contracts with them, and using their powers through Possession Apparel. These pieces of apparel change what the character can do, making equipment a direct part of progression and combat identity.
The fighting system is built around different approaches rather than one fixed style. Some hunters rush into close combat, others attack from range, and others rely on supernatural powers shaped through prayers and talismans. With its vertical movement, yokai contracts, urban setting, and bold visual direction, Kemuri is positioning itself as one of the most distinctive action games currently scheduled for 2027.
