Lunarium will launch for PC via Steam on July 29, priced at $17.99, €17.99 and £15.99. Developed by Lunarium Game Studio and published by Imperfect Games, the hand-drawn isometric action RPG combines fantasy storytelling, reactive combat and character progression built around two protagonists whose paths converge in a collapsing world.
The story follows Ave and Lune, two young women trying to restore peace to their dying homeland. Ave is a light-armored swordmaster designed for close-range pressure, with precise dodges, well-timed parries and counterattacks at the core of her fighting style. Lune brings a different layer to the journey, using mysterious magic to weaken enemies, support Ave’s attacks and help the pair overcome obstacles during exploration.
Combat is built around timing rather than simple attack chains. Reading incoming strikes, neutralizing them cleanly and responding at the right moment can turn dangerous encounters into openings. Resonance Points add another tactical layer during battles, letting the pair reduce enemy strength and link their abilities more effectively when the pressure rises.
Progression comes through skill trees, equipment upgrades, materials and Embroideries, a charm-like system that grants passive advantages and lets players adjust Ave’s build. The Temple works as a quieter sanctuary where gear can be enhanced between the darker stretches of the adventure, while Cloaks add both visual changes and ability effects tied to different approaches in combat.
The journey moves through hand-drawn locations such as forgotten forests, ruined castles, dreamlike archipelagos, abandoned temples and churches covered in dark mist. Ancient golems, mutated creatures and major bosses block the path, pushing Ave and Lune toward new skills and deeper truths. The narrative explores memory, self and meaning, with two endings connected to the hidden origins of both protagonists and the secrets behind their shared journey.
